We are seeking a Project Director!
The Marine Stewardship Initiative (MSI) is recruiting a Project Director. This permanent position will be 35-40 hours/week. Hourly range is $35-40/hour depending on candidate experience. We offer extended benefits and three weeks annual vacation.
About the position:
We are looking for someone who is passionate about leading the protection of ocean and community health using a place-based approach grounded in research, relationship building, and education. The Project Director reports to the MSI’s Steering Committee and is the senior leadership position on the project. We are seeking someone who has management experience and skills, a familiarity with marine spatial planning, and an understanding of the regional context (Átl’ka7tsem/Howe Sound and the Salish Sea).

About the project:
We lead marine and freshwater research, education, and community engagement in service of planning and relationship building in Átl’ka7tsem/Howe Sound, a glacial fjord within the Squamish Nation’s territory. We are committed toward the goals and objectives of the Átl’ka7tsem/Howe Sound Biosphere Region, including biodiversity conservation, sustainable development, and reconciliation.
