Celebrate Howe Sound/Átl’ḵa7tsem 2.0
On June 7th 2021, the Marine Reference Guide celebrated Howe Sound/Atl’ka7tsem’s ocean and community to kick off World Oceans week! During the event, the MRG launched two incredible online maps, and shared videos and stories from some of this region’s ocean champions. Watch the full recording of the event below to be inspired by the community leaders who worked hard to create these tools that will inform marine spatial planning and education. First Nations, youth, elected officials, industry, conservationists, recreationists, educators, and so many more have come together to strengthen decision-making in Howe Sound/Atl’ka7tsem – from mountain top to seafloor.
